Ford introduces a new 7-speed automatic transmission option for the EcoBoost Hybrid engine variants, which will allow for the first time drivers who want an automatic gearbox to reduce CO2 emissions and save money using Ford mild-hybrid technology of 48 volts.

Available on the Ford Puma and Ford Fiesta with the 1.0-litre EcoBoost Hybrid engine, the seven-speed automatic transmission can make the driving experience less demanding in frequent stop-start situations. In addition, the quick gear changes complement the performance of the hybrid engine.

Ford EcoBoost Hybrid technology uses a BISG system to recover energy normally lost during braking and to charge a 48-volt lithium-ion battery. The BISG system also provides torque assistance (20 Nm) to the engine to increase its efficiency and performance, depending on driving scenarios.

Acceleration for the Ford Puma 1.0 EcoBoost Hybrid 125HP with 7-speed automatic transmission is improved by up to 4% compared to the non-hybrid version. Puma 1.0-liter EcoBoost Hybrid 155 hp automatic, 7-speed automatic accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.7 seconds. The automatic transmission also offers manual speed selection mode, with sport paddles at the wheel.

The combination of EcoBoost Hybrid and the seven-speed automatic transmission is particularly suitable for the city, where frequent stops allow regular capture and redistribution of energy.

The combination of a dual-clutch transmission with a hybrid propulsion system offers the customer the advantages of both technologies, as well as increasing the availability of economical hybrid propulsion systems for people who want an automatic transmission.
