MG has announced the launch of two new-generation battery electric vehicles in Europe later this year. The MG Marvel R Electric, a high-tech, premium 'lifestyle' SUV for the C-segment, and the new MG5 Electric, the world's first 100 % electric station wagon. Both BEVs are forward-thinking, strong, and, above all, appealing. While the existing MG ZS EV and MG EHS Plug-in Hybrid already stand out in terms of value, usefulness, standard features, and efficiency, these new MG models lift the bar even higher in terms of appearance and appeal.

MG Motor Europe's CEO, Matt Lei: We made a commitment to European drivers when we resurrected the British MG brand under the umbrella of our parent company SAIC Motor: to make electric mobility accessible to drivers who are youthful at heart and ready to embrace a new electric lifestyle. Our main goal is to provide cars that are clever, practical, safe, and technologically advanced. We launch two next-generation battery electric vehicles, the MG Marvel R Electric and MG5 Electric, to fulfil the needs of the most discerning European motorists. Such as a wide selection of options, quick charging, enhanced safety features, and cost-effective pricing.

The Evolution Design language was used to create this second-generation EV. As it communicates and interacts with its users, the Marvel R Electric is described as an intelligent 'Tech Style' vehicle with modern and powerful components. The design features appealing proportions and minimalistic design elements that give the car a stylish, modern, and progressive appearance.

The upscale high-tech lifestyle C-segment SUV has a length of 4,674 mm, a width of 1,919 mm, and a height of 1,618 mm. The wheelbase is 2,800 mm, which means there is plenty of internal room. The MG Marvel R Electric has a big and magnificent interior with a 19.4-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, in addition to its elegant posture.

Matt Lei: The MG ZS EV and MG EHS Plug-in Hybrid are practical automobiles that satisfy the most basic requirements, while the MG Marvel R Electric and MG MG5 Electric elicit even more emotion. These new MG models exude time's power, inventiveness, and unimaginable possibilities.

The MG Marvel R Electric is a battery-electric SUV designed for a new generation of European drivers that value design, luxury, and performance, as well as a long-range and quick charging capability at a fair price.

The Marvel R Electric gives tremendous peace of mind with a range of over 400 kilometres (WLTP), and drivers can count on speedy charging capability at a public charging point (AC) thanks to the 11 kW on-board 3-phase charger. Fast-charging (DC) is also possible, allowing the battery to be charged to 80% capacity in just 30 minutes. Meanwhile, the climate management system, which includes an internal heat pump, ensures maximum charging performance even in cold weather.

The V2L system is another standout element of the MG Marvel R Electric (vehicle-to-load). This technology enables the lithium-ion battery to power an external electrical system such as an air pump, electric scooter, laptop, or even another BEV. This technology is seen as a critical advancement in the clean energy transition and last-mile solution.

The MG Marvel R Electric not only exudes power but also delivers on that promise. An innovative all-wheel-drive system with three electric motors (one on the front axle and two on the back axle) is used in the drive technology.

The electric SUV has a maximum output of 212 kW (288 hp) and a peak torque of 665 Nm. This enables the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 50 kilometres per hour in just 1.8 seconds and from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in only 4.9 seconds. The top speed is limited to 200 kilometres per hour. The Marvel R Electric will also be available with two electric motors in a rear-wheel-drive layout.

The MG Marvel R Electric's maximum towing weight is 750 kg. Towing a trailer or caravan is possible with this vehicle - for example, two e-bikes on a dedicated bicycle carrier.

The rear luggage compartment has plenty of space: 357 litres. It may be raised to 1,396 litres with the back seat folded down. The Marvel R Electric features 150 litres of luggage space beneath the hood, often known as a frunk, in the RWD variant. Customers may also expect a huge number of active safety measures from MG Pilot vehicles, such as the MG ZS EV and MG EHS Plug-in Hybrid.

The new MG Marvel R Electric is set to go on sale in Europe this year. In the weeks leading up to the commencement of sales, further information will be released.
