Pips play an important part when trading in Foreign Exchange markets. Traders commonly use them to refer to wins or losses. The last decimal point is used to compute a pip, which represents the amount of change in the exchange rate for a currency pair. The smallest change is the final decimal point, comparable to 1/100 of a percent, or one basis point because most major currency pairs are priced at four decimal points.
