A tour of the catacombs of Paris is definitely an unforgettable experience. The tunnels have existed under the streets of the French capital since the 13th century. They were formed in the limestone quarries dug for the construction of the city. After the limestone reserve was depleted, the tunnels were abandoned and left empty for several hundred years.

Then, in the second half of the 18th century, they received a new use. As the cemeteries were overcrowded, the catacombs were used to deposit the bones of the Parisians. Today, the sinister tunnels, "padded" with bones, are visited daily by hundreds of thrill-seekers.
